What are "units" and what does each action cost?

Units are your balance of "tries" in the product. Rough guide: improve one text block - 1 unit; cover letter - 2 (the first is often free); match to a job - 5; build a resume from scratch - 10; translate the whole resume - 5. We charge only when you already have a result. If it fails - we do not charge.

Why Rolebe if I already have ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok?

Often yes when the page is public. If login or a bot check blocks us, paste the job text. Keep the link for applying. We never open private internal URLs.

Will my resume work with "robots" that filter applicants?

We show how close your resume is to the job text, give a score, and offer simple layouts that screening software reads more easily. That is a guide, not a promise you will "pass every system at 100%". Each company has its own tools. We help you fit the job and keep the file clean - no magic claims.

Is it safe to upload my resume and personal data?

We check the file type and scan for malware. Files stay in your account. We do not sell contacts or send spam in your name. You can export or delete your data. Card payments go through a payment provider - we do not store full card numbers.

How many layouts and languages are there?

Twenty-five layouts and twenty-one languages - for the site and for resume text. Change the layout without losing your words. Site language and resume language can be different.

When are units taken from my balance?

When the action is done and you have a result. For example: the resume was matched to a job, built from scratch, a block was improved, the resume was translated, or a letter was written. Free starter gifts (one full resume and one job match) are once each. If nothing worked because of an error - we do not charge it as success.

Resume or CV - does Rolebe work for US and UK formats?

Yes. Use resume-style wording for US roles and CV wording for UK/EU where it fits. Layouts stay ATS-readable either way; you choose the resume language separately from the site language.

Export the format the portal asks for. DOCX and clean PDF travel well; a designed PDF is for humans; ATS-plain is for strict parsers.

Word is widely accepted and easy for ATS to read. On Rolebe, paid accounts get clean DOCX; free tier focuses on watermarked PDF.

Use DOCX when the form says "Word" or when you need to tweak locally before submit.

If the Simple/ATS checkbox is on, DOCX stays lean (no focus-tag chrome).

PDF

PDF preserves layout. Free downloads may include a Rolebe mark; paid packs remove it. ATS-plain PDF drops heavy design.

Send designed PDF when a human will open the file in email. Prefer ATS-plain or DOCX for rigid portals.

Print/PDF from the browser respects the ATS checkbox when enabled on preview.

Filename tip

ATS exports add an _ats suffix so you can tell packs apart in Downloads.

Keep one clear name pattern: Name_Company_Role.pdf - and the _ats variant for parser uploads.
